Based on engagement in meaningful activities of daily living. Some examples would be increasing independence and safety with dressing, showering, cooking, and leisure activities. Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Occupational Therapist Assistants (OTAs) encourage participation in these activities despite impairments or limitations in physical and mental functioning. OTs and OTAs recommend adaptations/modifications to a resident’s environment to increase safety and independence, educate family and caregivers and may aide in increasing resident’s upper extremity strength, improve endurance and develop a home exercise program.

Physical Therapy focuses on helping you perform functional activities and/or movement in your daily life. This includes getting up and down from different surfaces, walking, climbing stairs and ramps and balance. Our Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants develop a care plan customized to your actual needs to return home after a hospitalization, surgery or illness. We also can help with a home exercise program to improve fitness, relieve pain or asses for different assistive walking devices. We are here to help you do the things you want to do!

Speech Language Pathology provides assessment and treatment for all areas of cognition, communication and swallowing.
